About Joico
Joico is an American professional haircare brand with a history dating back to 1975. Its main specialities are haircare, restorative treatments, styling and professional hair colour. The portfolio includes products for salon services alongside everyday care for use at home.
Its collections address different needs, including dryness, breakage, colour fading and unwanted changes in tone. This makes it possible to build a routine around your hair's condition, thickness and previous chemical treatments.
What is Joico known for?
Joico is particularly associated with K-PAK and protein-based care for damaged hair. Selected formulas feature SmartRelease technology, a liposome system that gradually releases rosehip oil, arginine and keratin. It is designed to help strengthen hair and protect it against damage associated with daily styling.
Ingredients and priorities vary across the collections. K-PAK Color Therapy features argan and manketti oils, while Color Balance uses pigments to help correct unwanted warm tones. Check the individual product description to distinguish between moisturising care, restorative conditioning and tone maintenance.
Joico product categories and collections
A routine can start with shampoos for cleansing, hair conditioners for regular care and hair masks for more intensive conditioning. Leave-in treatments, oils and styling products provide further options for volume, texture, hold or thermal protection.
K-PAK and K-PAK Color Therapy
K-PAK focuses on restorative care for damaged, breakage-prone hair, helping improve strength and appearance. K-PAK Color Therapy is designed for colour-treated hair, combining strengthening care with support for colour vibrancy and shine.
Defy Damage
Defy Damage focuses on strengthening hair and protecting it against everyday stressors, including heat styling and UV exposure. The collection includes both rinse-out and leave-in care.
Moisture Recovery and HydraSplash
Moisture Recovery offers richer moisturising care for thick or coarse, dry hair. HydraSplash provides lighter hydration for fine-to-medium hair, helping maintain softness without a heavy feel.
Color Balance and Blonde Life
Color Balance Purple helps neutralise unwanted yellow tones in blonde hair, while Color Balance Blue targets orange tones in brunette hair. Blonde Life cares for blonde and bleached hair, with an emphasis on brightness and strength.
Who is Joico suitable for?
Joico offers options for hairdressers and customers maintaining a targeted routine between salon visits. Start with your main priority: hydration, care for damage or colour maintenance. Then choose a suitable level of conditioning for your hair's thickness and follow each product's directions.
