How to use

Preparation and shade selection

Perform a sensitivity test 48 hours before every tinting treatment, following the instructions on the tint packaging. Wear suitable gloves and use non-metallic utensils.

Use Dark Brown 3 for rich brown colour on fair or dark hairs. Blend it with other shades from the same vegan range for a bespoke colour; it adds depth to a Light Brown 3.1 blend.

Preparing the mixture

Mix approximately 2 cm of tint with 10 drops of Apraise Liquid Developer until smooth and uniform. For a smaller amount, add 5 drops of liquid developer to 1 cm of tint. Apraise Cream Developer can also be used according to its instructions. Apply the tint after mixing with developer, rather than directly from the tube.

Tinting brows

Remove make-up and product residue with Apraise micellar water so the hairs are clean and oil-free. Use a cotton bud to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the skin around the brows. Do not coat the hairs to be tinted, as petroleum jelly prevents the colour from taking. Apply the mixture with a tinting brush, following the desired brow shape and keeping it off skin outside the treatment area.

Tinting lashes

Cleanse the lashes and eye area. Protect the surrounding skin with petroleum jelly, apply a thin layer to the back of the protective papers and place them beneath the lower lashes. Ask the client to gently close their eyes. Brush the prepared mixture onto the lashes in downward strokes. When tinting both areas in one treatment, apply to the lashes first and then the brows.

Development time and removal

Leave to develop for 5–10 minutes according to hair type and desired intensity. A longer development time within this interval produces a more intense result. Gently wipe the brows with damp cotton wool until all tint residue is removed. Remove the protective papers with a downward sweep of a damp cotton pad. Clean the lashes using the same motion while the client's eyes remain closed. Once all residue is removed, ask the client to open their eyes slowly and initially avoid bright or direct light.
