Step 1. With dry hands, take out one strip by the end without indicator pads and immediately close the container tightly. Keep the remaining strips dry.
Step 2. Immerse the indicator pads in the hot tub water and gently move the strip three times. Remove it with the pads facing upwards.
Step 3. Compare each pad's colour with the corresponding chart on the container. Follow the immersion and reading instructions on the specific label and read within the stated time.
Step 4. Assess free chlorine or total bromine according to your sanitising method, together with pH, alkalinity and total hardness. Use the chlorine reading with the FreshWater salt system; a bromine test capability does not mean the system is intended for bromine products.
Step 5. If adjustments are needed, add the appropriate care product following its dosing instructions. Allow the water to mix as directed for that product, then retest with a new strip.

Do not reuse a strip. Chlorine and pH measurements help check the water before a soak; determine care product doses from the actual readings and hot tub water volume.
