Matrix professional hair care, styling and colour

Matrix offers professional products for hair care, styling and colouring. The portfolio is organised around hair types, textures and concerns such as dryness, damage, frizz, lack of volume, colour maintenance, blonde care and curl definition. This makes it possible to combine cleansing, conditioning, intensive care, leave-in products and styling into a routine focused on a particular result.

Matrix hair care products

The hair care assortment includes shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, oils and serums, plus leave-in treatments. Individual ranges address different hair conditions and textures, allowing products to be selected according to both hair type and the result a customer wants to achieve.

Food For Soft for dry and porous hair

Food For Soft is Matrix's hydration-focused range for dry hair. Its formulas feature avocado oil and hyaluronic acid. The collection includes a hydrating shampoo, detangling conditioner, rich treatment mask and multi-use oil serum. Matrix states that the range is suitable for dry and porous hair types and can also be used on colour-treated hair, making it relevant for routines where hydration, softness and smoother-looking hair are priorities.

A Curl Can Dream for waves, curls and coils

A Curl Can Dream brings together cleansing, conditioning, leave-in and styling options for textured hair. The range includes shampoos, conditioner, co-wash, moisturising cream, lightweight oil and definition products. Several formulas contain Manuka honey extract, while products developed specifically for waves can also feature rose water. The range is designed around preserving moisture and enhancing the natural definition of textured hair.

Care for colour-treated and blonde hair

Matrix has several ranges dedicated to colour maintenance and tonal concerns. Color Obsessed is designed for colour-treated hair, while So Silver and Brass Off provide pigmented care. So Silver uses purple pigmentation in products for blonde and grey hair, whereas Brass Off uses blue pigmentation for lightened brunette hair. Unbreak My Blonde is another Matrix range associated with the care of lightened hair.

Options for damaged, fine and frizz-prone hair

Instacure products target dry, brittle and damaged hair, while High Amplify is positioned around fine hair and volume. Mega Sleek focuses on smoothness and frizz control. When choosing between these ranges, consider the current condition of the hair as well as its natural texture. Hydration, strength, smoothness, volume and colour maintenance are different goals and may call for different combinations of products.

Matrix styling products

The Matrix styling category includes mousse, gel, hairspray, dry shampoo, wax and paste, as well as products for texture and curl definition. This gives customers options ranging from lightweight volume and restyling to stronger hold and sculpting. Examples include Setter Mousse for volumising lift, Controller Gel for definition and sculpting, and Refresher Dry Shampoo for refreshing and restyling between washes.

Professional Matrix hair colour

Matrix also has a substantial professional colour portfolio. Current colour families include SoColor, Super Sync, Tonal Control, Light Master and BlondeMax, spanning permanent and demi-permanent colour options, toners, lighteners and developers. Because professional colour products require precise formulation and application, users should follow the instructions, mixing ratios and professional-use guidance provided for the specific product.

How to choose Matrix products

Start by identifying the main concern you want to address. Dry hair may benefit from a hydration-focused routine, textured hair from moisture and definition products, and colour-treated hair from specialised colour-care products. Fine hair can be paired with lightweight volumising formulas, while damaged hair may require targeted strengthening and conditioning care. Combining a shampoo, conditioner and complementary treatment from a range designed for the same concern can make a routine easier to understand and maintain.
